ADHA Student Proud Instagram Giveaway Official Rules
(“OFFICIAL RULES”)

The “ADHA Student Proud Instagram Promo Giveaway” (the “Giveaway”) is sponsored by the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and Heartland Dental (collectively, the “Sponsor”). This Giveaway is governed by these Official Rules. By participating in the Giveaway, each entrant agrees to abide by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements, and understands that the results of the Giveaway, as determined by the Sponsor and its agents, are final in all respects. The Giveaway is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law.

  1. ELIGIBILITY: This Giveaway is open only to legal residents of the United States (not including residents of Florida). Only individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years of age or older (except, in the case of legal residents of certain states where the legal age of majority is greater than eighteen (18) years of age, such legal age of majority) at the time of entry and are a student enrolled in a undergraduate dental hygiene program in the United States. Employees, officers, and directors (including immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and members of the same household, whether or not related) of the Sponsors and any and all companies associated with the Giveaway are not eligible to participate or win the Prizes (as defined below). Eligibility is also contingent upon compliance with these Official Rules and fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. The Giveaway is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations. Void in Florida and where prohibited or restricted by law, rule, or regulation. Participants residing in areas in which the Giveaway is void may participate in the Giveaway but not win the prize.
  2. HOW TO ENTER: There is no entry fee, and no purchase is necessary to enter or win this Giveaway. The Giveaway begins at 8:00am CT on April 7, 2025 and ends at 5:00pm CT on April 11, 2025 (“Submission Period”). Entrants entering the Giveaway electronically will enter by following @YourADHA on Instagram, liking and sharing the Giveaway posts, tagging a friend (the “Submission”) or posting and tagging @YourADHA on posts related to Student Proud Week 2025. Alternative entry by email is permitted. One email per person may be sent to [email protected] with the subject “Student Proud Giveaway Entry” and will be counted as a Submission. All Submissions must be received during the Submission Period. Sponsor reserves the right to extend or shorten the Giveaway at its sole discretion.
  3. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Submissions not in compliance with the submission requirements outlined in these Official Rules (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion) may not be considered. Submissions may not include profanity, obscenity or otherwise incorporate inappropriate themes or activities.  Submissions may not include, depict, or promote vandalism or property damage. Submissions found, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, to be inappropriate, in poor taste, or to violate the Sponsor’s Bylaws or policies will be disqualified. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, unreadable, unqualified, or incomplete Submissions, or Submissions not received for any reason. Submissions will not be acknowledged.
  4. WINNER SELECTION: For the “Tag Your Inspiration” activity, the first 50 participants who tag a friend or post about a friend according to the instructions at adha.org/student-proud-week-2025 will receive a prize. Three additional students, drawn at random from all “Tag Your Inspiration” posts during the Submission Period, April 7 – 11, will also receive a prize. For the “Pop Quiz with the ADHA Prez”, three winners will be chosen at random from all of the students who view, interact or comment on the quiz questions on April 8, 2025. For the “Student Proud Playlist”, the initial person who suggests one of the 20 songs that receive the most votes by likes and comments will win a prize. The suggester of the song that receives the most votes by likes and comments will win an additional prize. Songs must comply with submission requirements. For the “Heartland Dental Instagram Takeover” three winners will be chosen at random from the participants who like, comment or interact with the Instagram live event on April 10, 6pm CT – 7 pm CT on @youradha. For the “Student Chapter Challenge”, all participation (likes, comments, shares, posts, submissions) in all of the week’s activities listed above will be tallied by participant and their respective Student Chapter. Total participation per chapter divided by chapter size will result in a per capita participation metric for each chapter. The ADHA Student Chapter that has the most per capita participation will win the challenge. Submissions that do not comply with these Official Rules are subject to disqualification. The Sponsor’s decision regarding all matters of the Giveaway, including, without limitation, whether a Submission is qualified, will be final and binding and no discussions will be entered into with respect thereto.
  5. PRIZE DESCRIPTION: Each of the 50 winners of the “Tag Your Inspiration” activity will receive one (1) $10 DoorDash electronic gift card. The three (3) winners chosen at random at the end of the Submission period will receive  will receive one (1) $100 DoorDash electronic gift card each. Each of the three winners of the “Pop Quiz with the ADHA Prez” raffle will receive one (1) $50 credit for purchases at the ADHA online store. Each of the 20 winners of the “Student Proud Playlist” contest will receive one (1) $20 Starbucks electronic gift card. The top winner will also receive a 1-year paid subscription to the Spotify Individual Premium Plan, an estimated $143.88 retail value. Each of the three (3) winners of the “Heartland Dental Instagram Takeover” raffle will win one (1) $100 FIGS electronic gift card. The winning student chapter for the “Student Chapter Challenge” will receive custom t-shirts with their student chapter logo, and a career coaching session party hosted by Heartland Dental. Sponsor is not responsible for inaccurate Prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this Giveaway. No cash alternative to the Prize will be offered. The Prize is not transferable. The Prize is subject to availability and the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice. The Sponsor will notify the winner when and how the Prize will be distributed. ALL TAXES ARE THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER. The Prize is awarded without warranty, express or implied, of any kind. The winner’s name, social handle, image, and likeness may be included in Sponsor’s publications and posted on its website, Instagram and via other forms of social media.
  6. WINNER NOTIFICATION: The winners will be notified within 5 calendar days after the end of the Submission Period via Instagram DM. Inability to contact a winner may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the Prize within 5 calendar days of notification or is not qualified to win, the Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw the Prize from the winner and choose a replacement winner.
  7. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION:
    1. Entrants entering a Submission into the Giveaway warrant that they have permission to do so from all those tagged in the Submission, and Entrants relieve Sponsor and its respective subsidiaries and affiliates, of all liability related to the use, sharing, or publication of any content or information included in the Submission.
    2. No transfer, assignment, or substitution of the Prize is permitted, except Sponsor reserves the right to substitute Prize (or prize components) for an item of equal or greater value at Sponsor’s sole discretion.
    3. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this Giveaway.
    4. By entering and/or accepting the Prize, Entrants and the winners agree to hold and indemnify Sponsor, and its respective subsidiaries and affiliates, promotional partners, directors, officers, and employees harmless for liability, damages, or claims for injury or loss to any person or property, relating to, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, participation in this Giveaway, the acceptance and/or subsequent use or misuse or condition of the Prize awarded, or any claims including but not limited to claims based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy, or copyright infringement. False or deceptive entries or acts will render the Entrant ineligible. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the immediate and unrestricted right to disqualify any Entrant or the Prize winners, if either commits or has committed any act or has been involved or becomes involved in any situation or occurrence which the Sponsor deems likely to subject the Sponsor, Entrant, or winner to ridicule, scandal, or contempt or which reflects unfavorably upon the Sponsor in any way. If such information is discovered by Sponsor after a winner has received notice of winning and before the Prize is awarded, Sponsor may rescind the Prize in its entirety. If a portion of the Prize has already been awarded, Sponsor may withdraw the remainder of the Prize that has not yet been fulfilled. Decisions of the Sponsor are final and binding in all matters related to this paragraph. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Giveaway, or in the announcement of the Prize.
  8. NOT ENDORSED BY INSTAGRAM: By participating in this Giveaway, Entrant acknowledges that this Giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Instagram and releases Instagram from any and all liability arising from or related to this Giveaway. The information you are providing for this Giveaway is being provided to the Sponsor and not to Instagram and will be used to notify you if you have won, and to inform you about special offers from the Sponsor and/or its trusted partners, affiliates, exhibitors, and sponsors.
  9. CONDUCT: All Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. The Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person they find to be tampering with the entry process or operation of the Giveaway website or that they find has otherwise violated these rules.
  10. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: Sponsor is not responsible for lost or late Submissions nor for electronic-transmission errors resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone-equipment, electronic, computer, hardware, or software malfunctions or limitations of any kind, or inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor or presenter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination thereof. If for any reason the Internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Giveaway, the Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Giveaway. Sponsor reserves the right to select winners from eligible entries received as of the termination date. CAUTION: Any attempt by an Entrant to deliberately damage any website, Sponsor’s intranet or undermine the legitimate operation of the Giveaway is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such Entrant to the fullest extent of the law. If there is a dispute as to the identity of the Entrant, the Prize will be awarded to the authorized account holder of the social media account or related email address. The “authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person to whom the social media account or e-mail address is assigned.
  11. GOVERNING LAW: This Giveaway is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to principles of conflict of laws. All cases and claims pertaining to this Giveaway must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Chicago, Illinois, without recourse to class-action suits.
  12. SEVERABILITY: If any provision of these Official Rules is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction or appointed arbitrator, such determination shall in no way affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision herein.
