ADHA Policy on External Fundraising
This policy establishes guidelines regarding the promotion or solicitation of fundraising activities by third parties through ADHA’s and the ADHA Institute for Oral Health (IOH) Foundation’s communication channels and platforms.
ADHA and the IOH Foundation do not promote, share, or solicit funds for:
- Individual member fundraising campaigns
- Third-party organizations
- Personal emergency funds
- External crowdfunding initiatives
- Individual member hardship cases
To maintain compliance with 501(c)(6) and 501(c)(3) regulations, organizational resources must be used exclusively for stated exempt purposes. Sharing external fundraisers may expose the membership organization and foundation to liability if funds are misused or claims are misrepresented. Sharing personal hardship cases risks violating privacy regulations, particularly when health information is involved.
All fundraising activities must directly support the Institute for Oral Health Foundation’s established programs. Requests to share external fundraising campaigns will be declined without exception. Members seeking assistance will be directed to appropriate external resources.
This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure continued alignment with organizational objectives and legal requirements.
