ADHA Policy on External Fundraising
Fellow of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (FADHA) status is a prestigious designation that requires active membership in the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA). To maintain this status, Fellows must adhere to the membership requirements established by the ADHA for the Professional Fellows Program.
Removal Procedure:
- Active Membership Lapse:
- Fellows must maintain continuous active membership in the ADHA. If a Fellow’s membership lapses for more than three (3) months, they become ineligible to retain their Fellow status.
- ADHA staff will send two emails and place one phone call over the course of several weeks after the Fellow’s membership lapses, to notify them of their lapse in membership. If they respond directly to that communication and reinstate their ADHA membership within one week of receiving the final notification, they may maintain their Fellow status without penalty.
- If the three-month threshold is reached without a response by the Fellow, their Fellow status will be revoked, and they must cease using the FADHA designation in all its applications.
- Reapplication Process:
- A former Fellow whose status has been revoked due to a lapse in membership may reapply to the ADHA Professional Fellows Program.
- To reapply, the individual must submit a new application with all required materials and payment for approval by the Fellows Committee.
- Optional Appeal Process:
- If an individual’s Fellow status has been removed for fewer than six (6) months, they may submit a written appeal to the Fellows Committee at [email protected].
- The appeal must detail the circumstances that led to the lapse in membership, confirm that membership status has been restored or when it will be restored, and provide a justification for the request to maintain their Fellow status.
- The Fellows Committee will review the appeal and determine whether to grant an exception. A Fellow may request and appeal only one time
