Student Presentations and Awards Program
Better known as the table clinic and research poster sessions, the Student Presentation and Awards Program is a great way for you to grow professionally while contributing to your profession. For a Table Clinic, 1-4 students present a review of literature of a current trend of theory in DH in a provocative and educational way using a display board, brochures, and a presentation. For a Research Poster Session, 1-4 students present original research through a poster a presentation. 1st-3rd place and Honorable Mention winners from each category are recognized at the Awards Luncheon immediately following the competition. 1st – 3rd place winners will be presented with cash awards and a matching grant for their respective school’s Student Chapter. The 1st place presentations in both categories will receive $1000!

Student Member Community Service Award
The Community Service Award recognizes outstanding student member community service projects that have brought oral healthcare education, screening, and/or services to those in need. To be eligible for this award 90% or more of your class needs to be Student Members of ADHA. Submitted projects are judged on the nature of the project, its goals and objectives, level of participation, the amount of time involved, its target population, its outcome, and an essay on how the project demonstrated outstanding community service.

Student Advisory Board
Apply to be one of four students selected to represent student issues, challenges, and viewpoints on the ADHA’s Committee on Student Relations (CSR). The Student Advisory Board (SAB) members are in contact with the CSR throughout the year via email and conference calls. The SAB members are able to assist with planning the student track for ADHA’s Center for Lifelong Learning at Annual Session and write blogs for ADHA’s MySpace page. The SAB members are hand selected by ADHA’s President. The application includes a bio-data form, cover letter, resume, and conflict of interest form. Applicants also fill out a commitment form and rules of conduct form. However, these last two forms are only used if selected for a spot on the SAB.

Student Delegate/Alternate Delegate
Each of the twelve ADHA Districts will select one Student Delegate and one Student Alternate Delegate. Student Members selected for these positions have the unique opportunity to represent all Student Members of ADHA. Student Delegates/Alternates attend their District Workshop and ADHA’s Center for Lifelong Learning at Annual Session, including all Student Track events and ADHA’s House of Delegates sessions. Funding is provided to cover airfare, lodging, ground transportation and per diem. *Because funds may vary annually, please contact your District Trustee for exact dollar amounts.
If selected as one of the twelve Student Delegates, you will receive information regarding how to apply to be the Student Member to vote in the ADHA House of Delegates (HOD) during Annual Session. Please note, in addition to attending the HOD sessions, the Voting Student Delegate must be present at the HOD floor to cast her/his vote.

Candidate for Student Assembly Representative
Student Assembly Representative is an exciting leadership opportunity for any student member attending the Student Assembly during Annual Session. This is your chance to speak on behalf of the 12,000 ADHA student members represented by the participants of the Student Assembly. The Student Assembly Representative is responsible for helping to moderate the Student Assembly Mega Issues discussions, and any discussions of Proposed Resolutions (PRs) or Proposed Bylaws (PBYs) that directly affect the student members of ADHA. The Student Assembly Representative is responsible for giving a report to the ADHA House of Delegates (HOD) at the First HOD session. Please note: any interested parties must be available to be able to provide the report to the 1st HOD. If you are planning on running for this position, please ensure that you make your travel plans accordingly to accommodate the expected execution of the office of the Student Assembly Representative.
