  Candidate for Student Assembly Representative

Student Assembly Representative is an exciting leadership opportunity for any student member attending the Student Assembly during Annual Session. This is your chance to speak on behalf of the 12,000 ADHA student members represented by the participants of the Student Assembly. The Student Assembly Representative is responsible for helping to moderate the Student Assembly Mega Issues discussions, and any discussions of Proposed Resolutions (PRs) or Proposed Bylaws (PBYs) that directly affect the student members of ADHA. The Student Assembly Representative is responsible for giving a report to the ADHA House of Delegates (HOD) at the First HOD session. Please note: any interested parties must be available Sunday, June 22, 2008 from 9:00 – 10:00 am, to be able to provide the report to the 1st HOD. If you are planning on running for this position, please ensure that you make your travel plans accordingly to accommodate the expected execution of the office of the Student Assembly Representative.

 
  Candidate for Voting Student Delegate
(must be one of the 12 student delegates)

You’ve already distinguished yourself by being a student delegate. Will you go one step further by running for Voting Student Delegate? Don’t miss this chance to be the only student member allowed to vote in the House of Delegates (HOD). Be the voice of your student colleagues and submit your candidate statement today! Please note, in addition to attending the HOD sessions, the Voting Student Delegate must be present at the HOD floor to cast her/his vote.

Awards Luncheon Designated Attendee Form

Students have the opportunity to raise awareness about a theory, service, or trend in dental hygiene practice through the presentation of a table clinic. Additionally, students may do the same by presenting their original research in the research poster format. Through the generous support of OMNI, a 3M ESPE Company, and Henry Schein® Dental, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place winners from each category are recognized at the Awards Luncheon immediately following the competition. Winners will be presented with cash awards and a matching grant for their respective school’s student member organization! The 1st place winners in both categories will receive $1000!

 
  Student Advisory Board

The Student Advisory Board is a wonderful opportunity for Student Members to influence the direction of their chosen profession and represent their fellow Student Members across the nation. Four students with BIG ideas about relevant issues are appointed by ADHA’s President. Student Advisory Board Members are required to participate in the Committee on Student Relations meetings via 2 conference calls. These meetings are usually scheduled once in the late winter, and again in early fall.

 
  Student Member Community Service Award

The Community Service Award recognizes outstanding student member community service projects that bring oral healthcare to those in need. Generously sponsored by Tom’s of Maine, three outstanding programs will receive $3,000 each and recognition at ADHA’s Annual Session.

 
  ADHA Institute for Oral Health (IOH) Scholarships

Just another of the many avenues ADHA wants to help Empower, Support, and Develop its Student Members. The IOH was created by ADHA members for ADHA members and offers over 20 scholarships, grants, and fellowships to help you reach your professional goals.
