| Lorie L. Jones Honored with
2006 ADHA/Oral-B Esther Wilkins Future Leader Award
Chicago—August 1, 2006—The
American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) has named Lorie
L. Jones, RDH, BSDH, of Spring, Texas, as the recipient of the 2006
ADHA/Oral-B Esther Wilkins Future Leader Award.
The award was created to recognize dental
hygienists who exhibit a strong commitment to the dental hygiene
profession and have demonstrated leadership in ADHA within five
years of graduation. Jones was nominated by her state organization,
the Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association (TDHA).
Jones both her associate in dental hygiene
degree in 2001 and her Bachelor of Science Dental Hygiene degree
in 2006 from the University of Texas Houston Health Science Center.
She is currently employed at a private practice specializing in
pediatrics and orthodontics. Jones has served as both a delegate
and alternate delegate to ADHA from her constituent association.
Jones was honored at the opening ceremonies
of ADHA’s 83rd annual session in Orlando, Fla., on June 24th.
ADHA is the largest national organization
representing the professional interests of more than 120,000 dental
hygienists across the country. Dental hygienists are preventive
oral health professionals, licensed in dental hygiene, who provide
educational, clinical and therapeutic services that support total
