| ADHA Announces Recipient of
2006 Distinguished Service Award
Chicago—August 1, 2006—The
American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) has named Lori
A. Bruce, RDH, MS, of Jefferson City, Mo., as a recipient of the
2006 ADHA Distinguished Service Award.
The award recognizes outstanding achievement
and dedication to the profession of dental hygiene.
Bruce graduated with her Bachelor of Science
in Dental Hygiene degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis,
Tenn., and her Master of Science in Counseling and Personal Services
degree from the University of Memphis. Bruce is currently employed
as a clinical dental hygienist at a private practice, and has a
long tenured membership with ADHA.
Bruce was honored during the opening ceremonies
at ADHA’s 83rd annual session in Orlando, Fla., on June 24.
ADHA is the largest national organization
representing the professional interests of more than 120,000 dental
hygienists across the country. Dental hygienists are preventive
oral health professionals, licensed in dental hygiene, who provide
educational, clinical and therapeutic services that support total
