Wins Linda DeVore Leadership Scholars Program Award
Chicago—June 27, 2005—The
American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) has named Kathleen
Jordan D’Ambrisi, RDH, MS, of Cockeysville, Md., as the recipient
of the 2005 Pfizer/ADHA Linda DeVore Leadership Scholars Program
Award.
The award, sponsored by Pfizer Inc, is designed
to facilitate professional growth of entry-level junior faculty.
The recipient receives a cumulative two-and-one-half-month visit
to the University of Maryland, Pfizer Inc, and ADHA headquarters
in Chicago. The recipient is also granted $8,500 to cover travel
and living expenses during the course of the visits.
D’Ambrisi received her associate in
applied science in dental hygiene from Baltimore City Community
College in 1998. She received both her bachelor of science and master
of science in dental hygiene from the University of Maryland Baltimore
College of Dental Surgery in 1999 and 2002, respectively. She is
currently pursuing her graduate certificate for online teaching
and training from Capella University in Minneapolis and expects
to have the work completed in September of this year. She is currently
an assistant professor at Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania,
as well as practicing dental hygienist at a private practice.
ADHA is the largest national organization
representing the professional interests of more than 120,000 dental
