| ADHA Announces Recipient of 2010 ADHA/Crest Clinical Dental Hygienist Award
CHICAGO, July 8—The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) has named Jan A. Brooks, RDH, of San Lorenzo, Calif., as the recipient of the ADHA/Crest Clinical Dental Hygienist Award. She was honored during the Saturday Plenary Session and Awards Presentation at ADHA’s 87th Annual Session in Las Vegas on June 26.
Brooks received her associate degree in dental hygiene from Chabot College in Hayward, Calif., in 2004. She has been a member of ADHA for a total of eight years and currently works in private practice.
This award recognizes clinical dental hygienists who made a difference in the lives of their patients/clients through one of a number of means including management, education or care services for patients/clients; the use of technology; or other innovative methods.
ADHA is the largest national organization representing the professional interests of more than 150,000 dental hygienists across the country. Dental hygienists are preventive oral health professionals, licensed in dental hygiene, who provide educational, clinical and therapeutic services that support total health through the promotion of optimal oral health.
