ADHA Announces Recipient of 2010
ADHA/Sigma Phi Alpha/Johnson & Johnson Journalism Award

CHICAGO, July 1—The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) has named Jennifer Stanley, RDH, BSDH, of Clarkston, Mich., as the recipient of the Sigma Phi Alpha Award. She was honored during the Saturday Plenary Session and Awards Presentation at ADHA’s 87th Annual Session in Las Vegas on June 26.

Stanley received her associate degree in dental hygiene in 2002 from Mott Community College in Flint, Mich., and a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene in 2009 from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She has been an ADHA member since 2008.

This award is intended to honor an undergraduate student and a graduate student who have written a review or original research paper that contributes to the dental hygiene body of knowledge and are of the quality to be published in the Journal of Dental Hygiene.

ADHA is the largest national organization representing the professional interests of more than 150,000 dental hygienists across the country. Dental hygienists are preventive oral health professionals, licensed in dental hygiene, who provide educational, clinical and therapeutic services that support total health through the promotion of optimal oral health.
