| ADHA Announces Recipient of 2010
ADHA/Sigma Phi Alpha/Johnson & Johnson Journalism Award
CHICAGO, July 1—The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) has named Kathryn Bell, RDH, MS, of Burlington, N.C., as the recipient of the Sigma Phi Alpha Award. She was honored during the Saturday Plenary Session and Awards Presentation at ADHA’s 87th Annual Session in Las Vegas on June 26.
Bell is currently pursuing a career in academics. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene in 2006 and obtained her Master of Science in dental hygiene education in 2010 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has been a member of ADHA since 2006.
This award is intended to honor an undergraduate student and a graduate student who have written a review or original research paper that contributes to the dental hygiene body of knowledge and are of the quality to be published in the Journal of Dental Hygiene.
ADHA is the largest national organization representing the professional interests of more than 150,000 dental hygienists across the country.
