ADHA Announces Recipient of 2010 Esther Wilkins Future Leader Award

CHICAGO, July 1—The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) has named Marilyn Wright Pickett, RDH, BS, of Salt Lake City as the recipient of the Esther Wilkins Future Leader Award. She was honored during the Saturday Plenary Session and Awards Presentation at ADHA’s 87th Annual Session in Las Vegas on June 26.

Pickett obtained her Bachelor of Science at Brigham Young University in 1975 and her Associate of Science degree in dental hygiene at Utah Valley University in 2006. She has served the Utah Dental Hygienists’ Association in the capacities of president, secretary and delegate.

Sponsored by Hu-Friedy, this award was created to recognize dental hygienists who exhibit a strong commitment to the dental hygiene profession and have demonstrated leadership in ADHA within five years of graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.

ADHA is the largest national organization representing the professional interests of more than 150,000 dental hygienists across the country. Dental hygienists are preventive oral health professionals, licensed in dental hygiene, who provide educational, clinical and therapeutic services that support total health through the promotion of optimal oral health.
