For Local Continuing Education...

Your dental hygiene association offers continuing education at local component and state meetings, available to both members and non-members. Find courses offered by a Local Association Component.

Also, consider contacting the nearest university dental school and/or dental hygiene program for a listing of their upcoming CE offerings.

If you have specific questions about the CE requirements in your state, or if you're not sure if the course will be accepted, please consult your state dental board. See CE Requirements by State for more details.

ADHA Resources:
- ADHA offers 22 Online Courses on a wide variety of topics, available for a reduced fee or free of charge. Successful participants of these courses will be awarded either 1 or 2 CE hours for each course, as noted.
- The Tobacco Cessation course offered by the University of Massachusetts Medical School, consists of eight modules and provides 12 CE hours upon completion.This self-paced, online course is designed as an introduction to the basic concepts needed by professionals who are working with tobacco users.
- lowerThis Web-based continuing education course, Special Care: An Oral Health Professional’s Guide to Serving Young Children with Special Health Care Needs provides oral health professionals with information to ensure that young children with special health care needs have access to health-promotion and disease-prevention services that address their unique oral health needs in a comprehensive, family-centered, and community-based manner. Provided by ADHA and the National Maternal and Child Oral Health Resource Center (OHRC), this course is free of charge and awards 4 CE hours.
- Each year the ADHA Annual Session offers the educational component of the Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL).  At CLL you can attend a wide variety of cutting edge CE programming in three days of individualized tracks that offer something for all roles of the dental hygienist, as well as inspiring courses to develop you as an individual!
