Award Luncheon Ticket Exchange
The process for reserving a table for the Awards for Excellence/Presidents Luncheon is still the same where 10 tickets will need to be turned into the registration desk by 6:00pm on Saturday, June 16 in exchange for 10 table assignments. We have extended the time for the ticket exchange by one hour on Saturday. Note, District Discussions are from 5:30pm – 7:30pm on Saturday, June 16. Be sure to plan early to collect your 10 tickets for a table assignment. Adjacent to the Registration area will be a Message Board. If you are looking for additional tickets to make up your table of 10, the Message Board is a great tool to utilize. Leave a note indicating the number of tickets you are looking for to make your table of 10 along with your name and contact information

District Discussions –All members within each district’s geographic regions are welcome to attend these sessions during which the issues before the ADHA House are discussed, the district trustee is elected (alternate years) and candidates for national office are often invited to make informal talks about their candidacies. To learn the states in each district see the listing of district trustees. Then plan to attend this session with fellow dental hygienists from your region. Room assignments will be provided in the official program.

To keep the House of Delegates sessions flowing smoothly, the reports and issues before the house are assigned to three committees of five individuals who are charged with making an in-depth study of the issues and recommending actions ADHA should take. Share your thoughts in this town hall format on the annual reports from ADHA councils and committees and the important policies that direct our profession and know that your comments will be considered when the committee makes its recommendations to the House of Delegates.
*Note – Reference Committee reports will be available for pickup by Trustees immediately following the Mega Issues discussion on Monday morning.

Moderated by Lynn Ramer, chair of the 2011-2012 Leadership Development committee, this year’s leadership mentoring forum will feature a panel discussion of UYP grads who have immediately put their knowledge to work in a volunteer capacity! Each panelist will answer five questions about how attending the Unleashing Your Potential weekend impacted their leadership style. After the panel discussion, there will be a question and answer period and the opportunity to identify leaders with whom you would like to network during your stay in Phoenix.

Is your state association approaching its policy work alone or as part of a coalition? Driving policy change alone is difficult, while working with partners as part of a coalition enhances your ability to be heard and to make an impact. Have you heard about coalitions, but aren’t quite sure how coalition-led advocacy works? Is your state association part of a coalition, but you are interested in understanding how to make its efforts more effective? Do you have success stories about coalitions to share? If you are curious about how state dental hygiene associations can work as part of coalition efforts to bring about policy changes, please be sure to attend the Legislative Workshop. Staff from Community Catalyst and ADHA will lead an interactive workshop designed to help participants understand what coalitions are and how individuals and organizations can work as part of successful coalitions. The workshop is ideal for state leaders and legislative chairs.
