Each year the Student Track at CLL strives to create an amazing professional experience for dental hygiene students. This group of programs and events is designed to take you beyond the student experience. With a NEW format, you don’t want to miss the programs designed just for you! We hope to see you at Caesars Palace Las Vegas next June!

Your registration as a student includes all of the Student Track programming for only $125! Make sure you select all the courses in the Student Track that you want to participate in when you register.

Student Table Clinics and Research Poster Sessions and Luncheon*
Setup begins promptly at 7:00am-8:00am
Judging begins promptly at 8:00am-10:30am

Share your knowledge and contribute to the advancement of the dental hygiene profession by participating in the Student Presentations. Participants present original research findings or a topic of interest on a current treatment, technique, theory or trend. The first place winner in each category will receive $1,000, with the 2nd and 3rd place receiving cash prizes - and receive a matching grant for your dental hygiene program! So why not turn your school project into a presentation at the CLL at the Annual Session? All participants will be invited to the Awards Luncheon immediately following the public viewing. Applications are due March 31, 2010. Due to growing interest and space limitations, we will only accept completed applications. This includes application, registration fee and awards luncheon form. Student Table Clinics and Research Poster Sessions Public Viewing
10:45am-12:00pm ~ Milano Ballroom
Learn about the latest trends, technologies, theories and techniques by attending the public viewing of the Student Presentations. Students from across the nation will be presenting table clinics and original research poster sessions on useful and timely information pertinent to your dental hygiene practice. Be there when the doors open for public viewing to maximize your learning experience!

Are you Smarter than Dr. Esther Wilkins?
2:30pm-4:30pm ~ Milano Ballroom
You’ve passed Perio, but did you remember everything you should have? Test your dental hygiene knowledge at this game-show style event moderated by Dr. Esther Wilkins herself! Team up with fellow students from across the country, win prizes and find out which team will be able to say they were smarter than Dr. Wilkins. New to the program: Stick around after the winners are announced for an opportunity to meet and have your picture taken with Dr. Wilkins!

Shake things up! Connect with students from across the country and have some fun at this student-only event.

Your Profession: Engage, Connect and React
NEW Format! This new program unfolds over three unique events!

The new progressive format creates a global conference experience for the student hygienist.

Engage: Your Profession
9:00am-12:30pm ~ Milano Ballroom
Engage with your fellow students to advance the views and concerns of dental hygiene students. Discuss key issues affecting the profession with your peers and share your ideas with the group at large. Make the connection between your student experience, your future professional career and your contribution to your surrounding community. Learn more about the profession, your professional association and what it means to be a modern dental hygienist.

Seeking the Right Fit: Finding the “Perfect” Position
Speaker:  Josalyn Sewell, RDH

You have worked hard to earn that degree in dental hygiene and now the hunt is on for the job.  This interactive session will discuss strategies for bringing home the prize – the job of your dreams.  Determining your priorities in advance of the search is essential for finding that perfect match between your philosophy and the workplace philosophy.  Career alternatives that will expand your search will be discussed. 

This session is not only for students and new graduates, but also for those who find themselves “stuck” in a dead end job.  Discover ways to take charge of your own destiny.

  • Participants will be challenged to take a hard look at what their priorities and expectations are for the work environment and then consider what settings would provide the best fit.
  • Participants will engage in small group discussions to consider realistic expectations for the work environment within the parameters of priorities established by each participant.  
  • Specific strategies for “hunting down” the perfect job will be discussed.
  • Consideration of career alternatives to expand the job search will be explored.

Many dental professionals have transitioned into other arenas using their dental education and experience to create new careers and opportunities.  Dental professionals have multiple talents, skills and passions that can easily apply to other areas within the dental industry or outside of the field of dentistry.  This course will help you define these skills that are critical to a fruitful future.

At the conclusion of this course participants should be able to:

      destined to be.
